Acting: No hiccups, delivery is very fluent. The characters will make you
wonder, laugh, hurt and cheer.
Special Effects: None to speak of. The stunt work was great.
Audio: The music magnifies the feeling of the scenes. Sound effects are
subtle.
Movie Message: Life knocks you down, but you must choose to get up or not.
Recommended for: Anyone who likes the interesting ways of the Chinese culture,
likes martial arts and loves to cheer for the underdog.
My Comment: The first time I watched this movie I was disappointed and found
myself liking the first Karate Kid better, but then it dawned on me.
I was disappointed because I was Comparing! Before you watch
this movie, Forget About the Original. Let it stand on it's own and
you will appreciate it a whole lot better. Seriously, how can it be
the same. It takes place in China; not the USA. The Karate Kid
is Afro-American; not white. The cultures and mannerisms are
different from the original. I believe you'll find this very entertaining.
